# Skills and plugins

> Install Ref skills and plugins from the public marketplace

The [ref-tools/marketplace](https://github.com/ref-tools/marketplace) repo is the public home for Ref agent skills and optional MCP plugins. Install from it when you want ui-sweep or docs search as plugins, or when you prefer to add the Ref MCP server from the marketplace instead of the install script.

| Plugin | What it does |
| - | - |
| `ref-skills` | Agent skills for Ref. Includes **ui-sweep**: sandbox a web app, catalog every screen into a Ref, report bugs with fix proposals, and leave a reusable `.ui-sweep/` scaffold; with `--fix`, ship draft PRs. Invoke as `/ref-skills:ui-sweep`. |
| `ref-context` | [Ref docs search](https://docs.ref.tools/context/install/index.md) MCP: `ref_search_documentation` over public and private docs. Not included in the install script. |
| `ref-plan` | [Ref](https://docs.ref.tools/plans/install/index.md) MCP server: list, read, and write refs, and coordinate sub-agents. Most people get this from the [install script](https://docs.ref.tools/plans/install/index.md) instead. |

## Claude Code

MCP plugins (pass your key from [ref.tools/keys](https://ref.tools/keys)):

## Codex

**ui-sweep** via Codex's skill installer:

```

Or copy it manually (Codex loads skills from `$CODEX_HOME/skills/<name>`, default `~/.codex/skills`):

git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/ref-tools/marketplace /tmp/ref-marketplace
mkdir -p ~/.codex/skills
cp -R /tmp/ref-marketplace/plugins/ref-skills/skills/ui-sweep ~/.codex/skills/
```

Restart Codex so it picks up the skill.

**ref-context** (OAuth):

codex plugin marketplace add ref-tools/marketplace
codex plugin add ref-context@ref-skills
```

For the Ref MCP server on Codex, use the [install script](https://docs.ref.tools/plans/install/index.md) (Codex plugins cannot take an API key).
